Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, by examining official input-output tables of Sweden and Turkey within sectoral analysis energy dependency has been studied. The sustainable environmental policy and sustainable production policy which have great impact in the world thanks to the European Union, are being tried to be implemented in several countries via various agreements and sanctions. In this context, the current status of the world energy sector, renewable and non-renewable energy resources have been examined in the first chapter of the study and in the second chapter; energy resources, energy policies and developments on energy policy of Turkey in the post-1990 have been introduced. In the third chapter Sweden's energy sources and energy policies and the developments in energy sector aftermath of the year of 1990 have been mentioned. In the fourth chapter, energy sectors of Turkey and Sweden have been compared and according to Hirschman Analysis, it has been revealed that the key sectors of Turkey are electricity, gas and steam and air-conditioning main metal and chemical products; for Sweden the key sector is food industry. According to the sectoral production multiplier, if there is one-unit increase of final demand in electricity, steam and air-conditioning sector; it will increase the production in economy up to 3,040 units in Turkey and also as a result of a one-unit increase in final demand in the coke and refined petroleum sector will increase the production up to 2.500 units. When the sectoral production multiplier value of Sweden is examined, one-unit increase in final demand of coke and refined petroleum sector triggers production with 3,0135 units in economy while one-unit increase in final demand of electricity, steam and air-conditioning sector causes 1,7955 units increase in production. As a result of import inverse matrix analysis it shows that Turkey is still dependent on external input from primary energy sources.
