Abstract (EN)

The Energy Performance of Buildings Regulation (EPBR) in Turkey aims the determination of calculation rules ensuring all the energy consumptions of a building by considering outdoor climatic factors, indoor requirements and regional factors and cost-effectiveness, classification of a building with regard to primary energy and carbon dioxide emission, and determination of performance criteria and implementation guidelines in the buildings. Energy ID Certification has been applied to the buildings since 01.01.2011 according to EPBR published in Official Gazette in 05.12.2008. Energy ID Certification is arranged by BEP-TR software, which is a document including information with related to the minimal energy demand, energy consumption classification, isolation properties and efficiency of heating/cooling systems for a building. When investigating the BEP-TR and Energy ID variables, it is shown that the role of energy-efficient design criteria on increasing of energy recovery - for example, variables in building and settlement scales such as sun exploitation or protective measures in a frontage, possibilities of natural ventilation, gray water reuse, orientation and landscape - is not as effective as changing the results in calculations. In this thesis study, evaluation of energy efficient design criteria in BEP-TR software was analyzed by comparing buildings in different settlements with each other. The results showed that these criteria should play a more active role in performance calculations when the EKBs of buildings are determined. This study aims to contribute the improvement of BEP-TR software in respect to more realistic data or variables inputs reflecting real environment conditions.
