Abstract (EN)
The manuscript chosen as the matter of the thesis is called ?Enva-ı Emraz? and is a text related with medical science consisting of 43 sheets and 9 parts. Because of its subject, the text has quite an extensive vocabulary related to old terms of medical science. These terms can be classified as terms about anatomy, botany, pharmacy and names of various substances that are used as drugs. With the examination of the text it?s aimed to manifest the clues about vocabulary and grammar of the period. The study is composed of an introduction, a grammar of the text, text and index. In the introduction of the study, information is provided about the place, form and content of the manuscript. The method followed during the study is also mentioned.Grammar section consists of orthography, phonology, morphology which are the three main parts. In grammar section we prefered not to carry out a full grammar of text but attempted to determine the parts that differs from Modern Turkish and Old Anatolian Turkish. In orthography study, it?s tried to lay bare how the spellings of vowels and consonants are and whether these representations in usage are consistent. It can be expressed that the text is not very consistent on the point of spelling and it is highly frequent and likely to face various spellings of the same word. The phonological section examines the vowel and consonant harmonies and phonological changes. Similarities and differences between the text and Modern Turkish are emphasized taking the phonological changes into account. As a result of the examination it?s seen that the characteristics of the text do not differ from the general characteristics of the period. Labial attraction is not constituted in text. It?s determined that on the matter of sonarisation there is no stability and sometimes unvoiced consonants protect themselves and do not change into soft consonants. In morphology section grammatical structures different from Modern Turkish are discussed. Especially conjugation is the primary concern. In the text, the point differing from the Modern Turkish is the absence of a proper appendix expressing the present and present continuous tense. It?s clear that some appendices showing the characteristics of the period are not used in this text.In the text part of the study, the transcription of the manuscript has been performed. The index includes the words used in the text and the meanings of words are given with their usages in the text. Besides, the origins of the words are given. The parts and the structures of the words are used are showed and a complete grammatical index is tried to be constituted. Also a separate name index including proper names is added to the end of the study.
