Abstract (EN)

Aim of this research is to examine the relationship between peer bullying, social support and depression in adolescents. For this purpose, Sociodemographic Data Form, Peer Bulb Adolescent Form, Social Support Assessment Scale for Children and Adolescents and Depression Scale for Children were applied to 135 participants of 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students of Private Schools of Istanbul Maltepe Ugur. Findings showed that peer bullying and being bullied have a positive correlation. Depression levels are increasing when children exhibiting physical bullying, verbal bullying and isolating others and children who are being verbally bullied and whose properties are damaged by others. It can be argued that friend support is a very important type of social support for the reduction of peer bullying, and on the other hand, the lack of support by the family may be related to the victimization of children's exclusion and damage to their properties.
