Male voice types, characteristics and training

In this research, it was aimed to determine the situation by examining the opinions of voice education experts on the type, characteristics and training of male voices in line with scientific research methods. The research is important in terms of evaluating the male voice type, characteristics and education in line with the opinions of experts in the field and providing a resource for both teachers and students. Qualitative research design was used in this research. A semi-structured interview form was prepared to access the data, and 5 expert opinions were taken for content validity. The semi-structured interview form was applied to 10 educators/artists who are experts in their field and have worked or are currently working in institutions such as the Faculty of Education, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Education Department, State Conservatory Performing Arts Department, Opera/Singing Main Art Branch, State Opera and Ballet, and related literature. Domestic and international articles, theses, magazines, internet and libraries were scanned. In order to analyze the data obtained from experts who participated in the research on a voluntary basis, their personal consent was recorded, the data obtained was analyzed by content analysis, and themes and codes were extracted. These codes and themes were sent to 2 experts, a compatibility analysis was conducted between the experts and reliability was achieved by obtaining a result of 80.6%. In line with the findings regarding the three sub-problems of the research; distinction of male voice types/subtypes and the factors/factors that determine voice types; The most common male voice types in the world and in Turkey are baritone and tenor, the least common types of voices are the bass type, the characteristics that a good male voice should have are voice structure, quality and musicality factors, followed by education (technique) and role ability (acting), the most common difficulties in the training of male voices are Transition tone problems (overtones), inability to be flexible and tend to get bored, creating rigidity, students having difficulty in perceiving the abstract concepts explained and mentioned, etc. Results such as these have been achieved.
