Eskişehir hand craftsman's evaluation in the context of living human treasure

With the 'Intangible Cultural Heritage' contract signed by UNESCO in 2003, it is aimed to transfer cultural heritage from generation to generation. The Living Human Treasure national system has emerged and developed in order to protect the knowledge, skills and equipment of the masters who transfer cultural heritage from generation to generation. In this study, which includes the bearers of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, presented and developed by UNESCO, the traditional handicraft masters in Eskişehir province, who comply with the Living Human Treasures criteria, were identified through field research and recorded with sound recording and photo shoots. The historical adventures of the arts and crafts performed by the handicraft masters in the study, the stages and techniques of their performance, and the materials used by the masters are included. The past, present and future situations of Eskişehir's traditional handicrafts were discussed together with the reasons affecting this process. As a result of the study; It has been observed that the traditional handicrafts living in Eskişehir are decreasing day by day and the master-apprentice relationship, which plays an important role in the transfer of cultural heritage, has come to an end in many arts and crafts. Therefore, T.C. It has been reached the opinion that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorates, Municipalities, Universities, Public Education Centers, which are about to disappear, should be given all kinds of financial and moral support to the traditional crafts and masters who perform these arts.
