Abstract (EN)

Poverty has been one of the most important factors affecting the living conditions of the individual within the social structure in every period of history. Women were more affected by poverty than men because of the roles and expectations imposed by gender norms on women in the social structure. In this study, in order to reduce the negative effects of poverty experienced by women whose husbands are in prison for various reasons, the effect of the social and economic support provided by the Ministry of Family and Social Policies within the scope of "social assistance" preventing women's poverty was investigated. At the same time, these womens have been criticized from a feminist perspective on coping with poverty, the illusions of poverty on daily life and the effects of gender norms on poverty, women's experiences and the concept of social assistance.
