Abstract (EN)

Business Administration Department, Master's Thesis Advisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa ÖZYEŞİL January 2025 This study examines a panel of 1000 US firms from 2018-2025 and demonstrates that remote work intensity has become a meaningful and lasting factor when it comes to business performance and employee wellbeing. Despite controlling for firm characteristics and time trends, companies with higher shares of remote job postings reliably report improved profit margins, enhanced market worth, more revenue per employee, healthier EBITIDA margins,in addition they are experiencing lower turnover and greater balance between work and personal life among employees. These patterns remain consistent across multiple robustness checks, including TWFE models, dynamic panel methods, heterogeneous effects test and placebo designs demonstrating that the benefits of remote work continue long after the COVID-19 period. The findings align with multiple theoretical perspectives, proposing that remote work proficiency functions as an intangible strategic resource supported by digital systems, skilled employees and helpful management approaches.
