Evaluation of the effectiveness of different remineralization agents on the treatment of white spot lesion: A in vivo study

The aim of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of CPP-ACP, CPP-ACPF and ReminPro applications in addition to a standard fluoride toothpaste for the white spot lesions treatment.This in vivo study included 25 children between the ages of 8-15 on a total of 110 anterior tooth surfaces with white spot lesion treated for 16 weeks. The patients were randomly divided into four groups. Control group was treated for a daily standard fluoride toothpaste with 500 ppm fluoride. In addition to the protocol of control group, CPP-ACP, CPP-ACPF and ReminPro were used in second, third and fourth group, respectively. Treatment protocol was planned for four weeks in all groups. DIAGNOdent Pen measurements of all patients were taken at the 1., 8., 15., 22. and 31. days. The patients were called again at 2. and 4. month for control measurement. Visual inspection of all patients were recorded before and after the treatment and 4. month. By the end of this study, although control and CPP-ACP groups had no significant difference visually, in the group of CPP-ACPF and ReminPro were found significant visual changes at the end of the treatment (p<0.05). In addition, DIAGNOdent Pen scores of CPP-ACP, CPP-ACPF and ReminPro groups were significantly decreased at the end of the treatment (p<0.05).
