Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this research was determined to examine the relationship between conflict situations, conflict resolution styles, perceived relationship quality and psychological well-being in married individuals. The research consists of two studies using qualitative and quantitative methods. In the first study, a qualitative research conducted to obtain in-depth and rich information in cultural terms included 10 couples (20 couples) who had been married for at least 6 months and were in different developmental periods in the family life cycle (newly married couple, families with young children, families with children in adolescence, empty nest syndrome and old age). Individual) was interviewed. The pilot interview was conducted with 1 couple, and the main interviews were conducted with 9 couples. In-depth information was obtained using the Personal Information Form and Semi- Structured Interview Form. Qualitative research method was used in the conducted study. In the analysis of data, in the first research, all voice recordings were deciphered and data analysis was carried out. The findings were interpreted and discussed by the researcher. As a result of the interviews, the couples' experiences were classified as codes, sub-themes and themes. 11 themes were determined: Definition of Relationship, Aspects of Relationship, Conflict Issues, Conflict Resolution, Therapy Topics, If I Had My Mind Now, Quality Relationship, Perceived Relationship Quality, Relationship with Family, Responsibility Satisfaction and Psychological Well- Being. In the second study, the mediating role of married individuals' conflict resolution styles in the relationship between conflict situations, conflict resolution styles, perceived relationship quality and psychological well-being was investigated. The study group of the research consisted of 219 individuals who had been married for at least 6 months. During the data collection process, scales were prepared via the Google Form application and sent to the participants. Four different self-report-based data collection tools were applied to the participants: Personal Information Form, Psychological Well-Being Scale and Conflict Resolution Styles in Romantic Relationships Scale. In the second study, G*Power 3.1.9.7, IBM SPSS 22 and Process Macro 4.2 programs were used to analyze the data. The data were examined through Pearson correlation analysis and mediation analysis. As a result of the analyses, it was found that negative conflict resolution style had a negative mediating role in the relationship between perceived relationship quality and psychological well-being in married individuals; while positive conflict resolution style did not have a mediating effect.
