Abstract (EN)
In this study, the relationship between perception of power and relational equity in marriages was examined. The sample of the research consists of a total of 306 teachers (187 female, 119 male) married teachers working in public schools in the central districts of Adana (Seyhan, Çukurova, Yüreğir and Sarıçam). In the study, Sense of Power, Relational Equity Scale and the Personal Information Form were used to obtain sociodemographic information about the participants. In this study, quantitative research was conducted using the relational screening model and the data was analyzed with SPSS 24.0 package program. According to the findings of the research, it was concluded that the power perceived by married individuals in the relationship negatively predicted relational equality at a moderate level. Additionally, perceived power in marriage significantly explains approximately 25% of the total variance in relational equality scores. A moderate positive significant relationship was found between positive power perception, which is the sub-dimension of power perception in relationships, and relational equality. A highly negative and significant relationship was found between another subdimension, negative power perception, and relational equality. Women's perceived power scores in marriage are significantly higher than men's perceived power scores in marriage. In terms of marriage duration, relational equality scores increase significantly as marriage duration increases. The research results were interpreted and discussed in the light of studies in the literature and suggestions were made to practitioners and researchers based on the research findings. Key words: Sense of power in relationships, relational equity, marriage, teacher.
