Abstract (EN)
This study is intended to give information about participation bank in Turkey. Since participation bank and deposit banking are jointly related in terms of overall functioning, structure and activity, first information about general structure, history and sectoral structure of deposit banking is provided. Then, some information is offered about the bases of the idea of interest-free banking, its development, relevant institutions and agencies, its functioning structure as well as the private financial institutions operating in Turkey whose name was changed as participation bank after 2005. Lastly, participation bank and deposit banking are compared with respect to personnel structure, size of assets, fund collection and utilization rates.Key words : Participation Banking, Interest-Free Banking, Deposit Banking
