Abstract (EN)
Porous asphalt and semi-rigid pavement designs are among the pavement types that are widely used worldwide. However, the field of application of such designs is quite limited and based on limited experience. Although field experience in countries using pavement varieties is limited, they are among the most promising types of pavement for performance and wider future use. In this thesis, it was aimed to design porous asphalt and semi-rigid pavement by using different aggregates and different modified binders. For this purpose, flatness index, specific gravity and water absorption, Los Angeles fragmentation, Micro-Deval wear, frost resistance, methylene blue, sand equivalence, and peel strength tests were carried out to assess the physical and mechanical properties of the basalt and limestone aggregate. In addition, binder tests were performed on pure and modified bitumen. Porous asphalt mixtures were prepared by using pure bitumen with penetration class B 50/70 and B 160/220 obtained from the Turkish Petroleum Refineries class together with SBS (Stiren-Butadien-Stiren) polymer and modified binders prepared with CR (Crumb Rubber) additive. In addition, semi-rigid mixture samples were obtained by filling the voids in porous asphalt mixtures with cement mortar. Within the scope of the study, performance tests were carried out on the mixture samples, and the performances of porous asphalt and semi-rigid mixtures prepared with different aggregates and different binders were examined evaluating the results of these tests.
