Abstract (EN)

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a rod-shaped, polar flagella, uniflagellate, asporogenous, gram-negative bacterium. This bacterium appears as bright and small spheres under the microscope. P. aeruginosa is responsible for 10-14% of hospital-acquired (nosocomial) components. In this context, it is possible to say that the most common cause of nosocomial infections is P. aeruginosa. Because P. aeruginosa microbe has a widespread distribution worldwide. This study was conducted to isolate P. aeruginosa from individuals with wound and burn infections. A total of 200 samples taken from patients; 100 wounds and 100 burns were cultured and isolated. Genetic material was extracted for all samples and their identification was done using PCR. Virulence factor genes (fabD and nadB) were observed more in P.aeruginosa isolated from wounds than in P.aeruginosa isolated from burns. The results of this study showed that the number of P. aeruginosa isolated from the wound was 52 (52%), while the other wound samples were negative. In addition to these results, it was shown that the number of P. aeruginosa isolated from the burn was 59 (59%), while it was negative in other burn samples. In the detection of fabD gene isolates using PCR, 9 (30%) wound isolates and 10 (33%) burn isolates, nadB gene was detected in 8 (27%) wound isolates and 10 (34%) burn isolates. 2022, 63 pages Keywords: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, fabD and nadB genes, Virulence factors, Iraq
