Effect of some pretreatments of seeds on germination of different Taurus cedar origins (Cedrus libani A. Rich)

This study aims to some pre-treatments on the germination of Toros Sediri (Cedrus libani A. Rich.) seeds. In order to determine the most suitable method to eliminate the germination barrier resulting from resin and embryo known to be present in the seeds of the Toros Sediri (Cedrus libani A. Rich) seeds, the percentage and rate of germination according to some pretreatments were tried to be determined. In this study, seeds belonging to different origins were obtained from seed stock centers of Nursery Directorates where they were allocated seed to Nursery Department of Seed Affairs Department. These origins were investigated in Antalya-Elmalı, Antalya-Alanya, Konya-Ermenek, Afyon-Çay, Isparta-Senirkent, Isparta-Ş. Karaağaç. For this purpose, germination tests were carried out in three different groups: 100 ppm GA3 and 500 ppm GA3. A total of 6 different pretreatments were applied for each group, as they were subjected to germination tests both after folding and after folding. The seeds were placed in cold-wet folding for 30 days at + 4 ° C in a vertical cooler, then 28 days at 25 ± 1 ° C in a germination cabinet. As a result of the study; The highest germination percentage (GP) was obtained from the seeds that were stratificated as pretreatment in Alanya (73%) origin and the lowest GP was obtained from Senirkent and Ş.Karaağaç (4%) origin which had 500 ppm GA3 pretreatment. As a result, while stratificating and 100 ppm GA3 pretreatment were the most effective factors for germination in Taurus cedar seeds, 500 ppm GA3 pretreatment had no effect on germination parameters.
