Revising discover problem continuum matrix and investigating its psychometric properties

In this study, DISCOVER Problem Continuum Matrix was revised and its psychometric properties were investigated. The new matrix included 7 problem types as opposed to previous matrix that had 6 types.A measurement instrument in mathematics was developed based on the revised matrix. This test included 24 problems that were developed based on the sixth and seventh grade curricula. It was administered to 519 sixth and seventh grade students. Test administration was carried out in students? regular class hours.Data analysis showed that the test had a reliability coefficient of .75. Statistically significant correlations were found between the problem types, divergent thinking and convergent thinking. The new problem type added to the matrix had a good fit. Further, it was found that the closer problem types to each other the bigger correlations among them, and as the distances among the types get bigger the correlations among them get smaller
