Abstract (EN)
In this study, the activities in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade science textbooks published by the publishing houses and approved by the Ministry of National Education in the period of 2018–2019, will be classified according to the skills specified in the Science Education Program of 2018. Field specific skills consist of three main categories in the curriculum. These are science process skills, life skills and engineering skills. A total of 15 skills are listed under these categories. The activities in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade science textbooks were examined separately and it was found out which of these skills were addressed in the curriculum. During the determination of skills, six different experts examined all activities in the books and expressed their opinions. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. The data obtained from the analysis of the activities were subjected to content analysis. The analysis was completed by looking at the sub-categories determined for content analysis. As a result of the investigation, the questioning of the field-specific skills were determined according to the units and grade levels. Frequency of usage was recorded in the tables and the distribution of skills according to the units was observed. The distribution of skills specific to the field was determined according to class levels. The use of scientific process skills, life skills and engineering skills according to units and grade levels were determined. Various suggestions were made in line with the results reached.
