Abstract (EN)

In this study, it was aimed to develop a professional development programme for science teachers' competencies to apply the revised Bloom's taxonomy and to examine the effectiveness of the programme. Since both quantitative data with experimental design and qualitative data with case study were collected in the study, the research is based on a mixed mixed model. Teachers' opinions were taken for the design of the professional development programme, and the scale and achievement test were applied to the teachers as a pre-test before the professional development programme. In order to determine the effectiveness of the programme, the scale and achievement test were applied as a posttest after the programme, the opinions of the teachers were taken, the conformity of the lesson plans prepared by the teachers to the revised Bloom's taxonomy was examined and the classroom practices were evaluated through observations. The qualitative research process was conducted with case study design and the quantitative research process was conducted with single group pretest-posttest design. The implementation of the programme was carried out with 14 science teachers of the Ministry of National Education in the central district of Amasya with different gender, age, experience and educational status in accordance with maximum diversity sampling. Content analysis was used to analyse qualitative data, Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test, analytical scoring key, descriptive analysis method was used to analyse quantitative data. At the end of the programme, it was revealed that the teachers gained awareness of the revised Bloom's taxonomy and improved their competencies in applying the taxonomy. In future studies, unlike this study, the number of acquisitions, units and subjects can be increased and more different methods and techniques, measurement and evaluation tools and methods can be used in accordance with these acquisitions.
