Abstract (EN)
This study was designed to investigate the effect of Sensory profiles of people with Fibromyalgia Syndrome on quality of life and fibromyalgia symptoms. The study was conducted with a total of 72 participants, 53 women and 19 men, who were diagnosed with fibromyalgia according to the ACR-2010 diagnostic criteria, between the ages of 23 and 62. Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire, SF-36 (Short Form) and Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile Questionnaire were used as data collection tools. According to the results of the analysis, a statistically significant, negative and high correlation was found between the participants' quality of life scores and their fibromyalgia scores (r=-.673, p<.01). No significant relationship was found between the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire and the adult Sensory Profile scale's sub-dimensions of low registration, sensory seeking, sensory sensitivity, sensory avoidance, taste/smell processing, motion processing, visual processing, touch processing, activity processing, and auditory processing (p>.05). There were moderate and weak correlations between the individuals' quality of life scale and physical function, physical role difficulty, physical role difficulty, emotional role difficulty, energy/vitality/vitality, mental health, social functionality, pain, general health perception sub-dimensions, and the sub-scores of the adult sensory profile scale. It has been concluded that individuals with fibromyalgia experience sensory integration problems and these problems negatively affect their quality of life and fibromyalgia symptoms. It is thought that sensory integration intervention should also be considered in the evaluation and treatment planning of fibromyalgia, and clinical studies should be conducted in this area.
