Examination of the relationship between financial failure and corporate governance and an examination on Borsa İstanbul

Failure of businesses to perform an effective financial management within the framework of developing technology and competitive environment causes the failure of the business. Businesses have begun to investigate the causes of financial failure, and the performances of the companies have been tried to be measured with forecasting methods. The purpose of the study is to determine whether there is a relationship between financial success and corporate governance practices, and if so, to reveal this relationship. In this context, analysis will be made on 16 companies (excluding banks, leasing companies, holdings, leasing-factoring companies and insurance companies) included in the Corporate Governance Index between 2010 and 2020. Financial ratios selected as financial performance indicators will be calculated separately for the years 2010 and 2020. It will be used as the annual ROA, ROE and ratio of the companies as a measure of financial success or failure. In the application part of the study, the financial performances of the enterprises will be analyzed by comparing their Corporate Governance Rating Grades. The data obtained for the study will be analyzed using the panel data method and the results will be evaluated.
