The effect of financial literacy on the intention to shopping from online shopping sites

Issues to consider when it comes to financial literacy: These are topics such as personal budget management, investments and savings. The ability to understand, manage and use financial skills, especially these issues, is called financial literacy. Online shopping allows people to shop through electronic media without time and place restrictions. With developing technology, online shopping has become a part of daily life. In this thesis study, after explaining the concept of financial literacy and the importance of this concept, the situation of financial literacy in the world is touched upon. Then, the concepts of financial literacy and online shopping in Turkey were examined. Two scales under the headings Financial Literacy and Online Shopping Process were created to examine the relationship between financial literacy and the intention to shop on online shopping sites. The survey, which consists of three parts including these scales and demographic information, was applied to a total of 412 people. When the analysis results were examined, it was concluded that there was no difference according to gender, but there were differences between the groups according to marital status, student status, monthly income, educational status, profession, frequency of shopping, frequency of online shopping and family budgeting status. It was also concluded that there was a positive relationship (0.35) between Financial Literacy and Online Shopping Process scales.
