Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to determine some phenological and pomological properties and phytochemical contents of currant and gooseberry cultivars grown in Battalgazi, Malatya. This study, it is aimed to contribute to the adaptation of currant and gooseberry species in the region. In this study, Rosenthal, Goliaht, Boosko Giant and Red Lake cultivars of the Currant (Ribes spp.) species and Jostaberry cultivars of the Gooseberry species (Ribes grossularia L.) were used as materials in the growing years of 2021 and 2022. The phenological characteristics of the cultivars and the physical measurements of fruit samples such as width, fruit weight and color, as well as chemical analyzes such as soluble solids titration acidity, pH, and total anthocyanin content, total phenol content and antioxidant content of the samples were determined in the first year of the growing period. As a result of the study, the total anthocyanin content in currant was 143.0-1558.3 μg siy-3-glk/g; total phenolic substance at 3810.84-7830.57 μg GAE/g; total antioxidant capacity (TEAC) was determined between 21.66-51.99 μmol TE/g values. In the gooseberry, these values are; total anthocyanin content at 132.3 μg siy-3-glk/g; total phenolic substance at 4592.23 μg GAE/g; and TEAC was found to be 25.79 μmol TE/g. Keywords: small fruit, quality, antioxidant, adaption
