The Public literature flourishing around the liberation struggle of Gaziantep

The Defence of Antep( April 1920-February 1921) and the public literature coming into existence around the defence is the subject of this thesis. Defeating in I. World War, Ottoman Empire had only Anatolia. Against Italia, France, Greek, Armenia there is National Struggle leading by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and rely on the soul of Kuva-yı Millîye, also, include the border of Misak-ı Millî. The oriental folksong and prose products of public literature are taken place around the Defence of Antep that is one of the fronts of the National Struggle. A part of these products are determined and gathered with the methods of close examination and collecting. The oriental folksong ones are mournings, ballads, epical folk poem and legends. On the other hand, prose ones are, generally, mythies. Also, a few number of idioms, damnations and prayer are determined. These products of public literature are classified accroding to their subjects and heroes. In this context, Şahin Bey, Karayılan and the events taking place around the "starvation", also, their surrounding phenomenon are examined. In the division, as far as the kinds are concerned, epical folk poem, legends and mythies are taken in hand. Moreover, the form properties of the products of the work are touched. The Defence, the war, the men and the other aspects are investigated with historical reality, and the reflection of public literature products.
