Abstract (EN)
This study investigates energy consumption and related emission estimates at a shipyard within the shipbuilding industry. High emission sources were identified based on the shipyard's operational processes, and a carbon footprint measurement process was established. The energy used in shipbuilding processes and the resulting emissions were examined. Emission reduction was targeted by creating energy monitoring plans. The structure and workflows of the shipyard were analyzed using an activity-based air emission inventory model. Fuel-based and activity-based emissions were calculated, and indirect emissions from electric vehicles were assessed. Emission calculations considered the fossil fuel and electric consumption of handling equipment through a shipyard application. The shipyard's energy consumption data were reviewed, generating energy consumption profiles by year and month, and their impact on the carbon footprint was evaluated. Ultimately, the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction strategies was found to significantly reduce the shipyard's carbon footprint.
