Abstract (EN)

Gestational diabetes mellitus is diabetes detected in the second or third trimester of pregnancy and not present before pregnancy. It increases the risk of numerous perinatal complications, including preeclampsia, macrosomia, and neonatal hypoglycemia. Additionally, GDM is associated with the subsequent development of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and increased cardiovascular risk in mother and child. Although the true incidence of diabetes, the most common metabolic disorder during pregnancy, is unknown, its frequency varies between approximately 1-14% in different countries. The pathogenesis of GDM is similar to the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes, which is characterized by insulin deficiency resulting from both increased insulin resistance and impairment of beta cell function and mass. All pregnant women are between the 24th and 28th weeks of pregnancy. recommends routine screening for gestational diabetes during weeks. This study was conducted with a total of 60 pregnant women, 30 with Gestational Diabetes and 30 healthy pregnant women. Healthy pregnant women were divided into group 1 and pregnant women with gestational diabetes were divided into group 2. Maresin-1 and s-equil levels were found to be significantly lower in GDM patients than in pregnant women without diabetes; No significant difference was observed in tmao, crp and indoxyl sulfate between pregnant women with diabetes and the control group. In conclusions based on the results of this study, it is thought that examining these molecules with larger case series will shed light on issues such as etiopathogenesis of gestational diabetes, diagnosis and treatment of gestational diabetes.
