Investigating the presence of maresiin-1 in colostrum milk of mothers with gestational diabetes

It has been determined that Maresin-1 increases inflammation resolution and inhibits inflammatory response and exhibits protective properties. In this study, the protective effects of colostrum were evaluated by examining Maresin-1 levels in colostrum, intermediate milk and mature milk. Healthy women aged 19-50 years and women diagnosed with GDM who had given birth were included in the study. 30 mothers diagnosed with GDM and 30 healthy mothers who had given birth who applied to the obstetrics clinic participated in the study. A total of 240 samples were collected from the patients and the healthy group. Colostrum, intermediate milk and mature milk will be milked from each mother, and the blood and milk will be stored at -20 until they are studied, and Maresin-1 peptides to be studied in both milk and serum were studied by ELISA method as specified in the catalogue of the manufacturer. All statistical analyses were performed with computer package (SSPS-22) programs. According to the study, the values of Colostrum, intermediate milk and blood in breast milk increased in the milk of GDM mothers, and a significant difference was obtained in the blood compared to other groups. When the Colostrum, intermediate milk and mature milk of other normal mothers were compared with the blood values, the increase rate increased in the same order. No significant difference was observed in the comparisons between the normal and GDM groups.
