Abstract (EN)
Biosensors are widely used in the analysis of biochemical events and the detection of changes. A biosensor consists of three basic components: a bioactive layer, a signal-transmitting system, and a recorder. Biosensors are high-sensitivity, fast, simple, and inexpensive devices. Enzymes, biomaterials, and tissues can be used in the design of biosensors. Enzymes are in protein structure and they are biocatalysts that perform reactions under certain conditions and cause the reaction to accelerate. In this study, the enzyme-dependent oxidation and reduction reactions of glucose were investigated. For this purpose, an electrode is placed on a microchannel surface. Current changes as a result of redox reactions on the electrode were monitored by cyclic voltammetry. Comsol Multiphysics v3.5a was used for the design and finite element analysis of the microchannel integrated biosensor. Mathematical modeling was first performed without fluid flow through the microchannel. Then, a liquid flow was defined to the microchannel inlet under laminar flow conditions and analyzes were made. In this study, it was observed that the maximum current obtained from cyclic voltammetry increased in the presence of laminar flow. Simulations have shown that increasing the magnitude of liquid flow velocity increases the efficiency of the biosensor.
