Abstract (EN)

Children reflect the world they perceive with their sense organs in their paintings. However, children's paintings do not only include the environment they live in. Painting is a reflection of children's emotions. Child drawing analysis can be considered as a door to the child's world. In this context, it can be said that child drawing analysis is of great importance in getting to know the child. When the literature is examined, although there are various studies, no study has been found that aims to determine the linear development stages of students diagnosed as gifted in the field of Visual Arts. In this context, the main purpose of the research is to evaluate the mixed technique work created by 54 students aged 8-12, using stones they found in nature, in order to find out to what extent children diagnosed as gifted in the field of Visual Arts show the linear development characteristics they are in by age. The population of the research consists of the Science and Art Center located in a province in the west of the Marmara region, and the sample consists of 54 students between the ages of 8-12 who are diagnosed as gifted in the field of Visual Arts and receive education in this institution. Within the scope of the research, mixed technique original works created by students using stones they found in nature were analyzed. The paintings were analyzed in terms of color, space and linear development phase, based on Lowenfeld's table of linear development stages. The works of the students participating in the research were examined and the linear development stage of the paintings titled 'Reflection of the Stone on My Dreams', which is the subject of the research, was analyzed in depth in the context of space and color. Again, in this context, comments about the student's emotional state are included.
