Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this experimental study was to investigate the effectiveness of the activities of the group guidance on the self-esteem levels of the elementary grade students.İn the study, pre and post tests was used by the researcher. First of all the self-esteem scale was applied to 100 students who are at the 6. grade in elementary school. Then 30 students were choosen by the researcher who score low on self-esteem scale for the experiment and the control groups. The researcher had applied the program of the activities to the experiment group for 8 weeks, about 90 minutes per week. There's nothing done with the control group. After 8 weeks, self-esteem scale was post applied to both groups. The data acquired from these tests were evaluated by SPSS 10,0 program. In the analysis of the data, the dependent t test and variance analysis were used. The results of this study indicated that; the activities of the group guidance were effective on increasing the self-esteem levels of the elementary grade students. m
