Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to determine the ornamental plants and their areas in Gülhane Park between 2017-2018. The study consists of literature review, data collection, analysis and on-site observation, analysis and evaluation. Firstly, domestic and foreign sources related to the research subject were scanned and the conceptual framework of the subject was formed, and the previous studies about the research subject and the results were analyzed in a logical framework and a method for data collection phase of the research was developed. The data obtained within the framework of the determined method were analyzed and the results were discussed and evaluated with the relevant literature. The material of the study was the plant materials which are present in the garden of Gülhane Park. Between 2017-2018, many field trips were made to the research area, and photographs were taken with cameras to indicate the morphology of the plants. In addition, the morphological features of the plant and the locations of the plant were noted in order to facilitate the naming of the plant during the identification of the plants. In order to determine the morphological characteristics of the photographed plants, organs such as flowers, fruits, leaves and stems were examined in the company of experts. Ecological characteristics, reproduction, diseases and pests, their use in landscaping, their general distributions, their general structures as well as their distinctive features such as branches, leaves, flowers, fruits and cones have been identified by using relevant sources. The plans of the selected places were prepared and the places of the plants on the plan were marked. The species characteristics of the identified plants are numbered in alphabetical order and these numbers are marked on the plans. The location of the existing plant, the length of the plant and the crown width of the plant were added. Square numbers in plans have been added to the list of plants to make it easier to find a plant in the field. . While examining the parcels in Gülhane Park, seasonal flowers, groundcovers and century-old monumental trees were not included in the research. In this study, 20 families, 23 genera and 26 species of ornamental plants have been identified. At the end of this study, it was determined that the plants used for ornamental purposes were mostly included in Rosaceae, Cupressaceae, Celastraceae, Araliaceae families. During this study, it was aimed to create a reference who want to get detailed information about identified ornamental plants.
