The concordance and functional dictionary of Gümülcineli Dürrî Dîvân

In the tradition of classical Turkish literature, the words become meaningful in context; so to say, the images and poetic themes reflect the imaginary world of the poet when they gain value in context. The contextual assessment of divans written in different centuries requires a long process and an intense effort. The TEBDIZ (The Contextual Indexes and Functional Dictionary of Turkish Literature) system which was developed for this reason gathers the studies created with these efforts on a common platform. In this study which was created using the TEBDIZ system, all words from the Divan of Gümülcineli Dürri, one of the 17th-century poets, are interpreted in context while his imaginary and artistic world are tried to be understood. This study examines many aspects such as the poet's use of language, the cultural material presented by his homeland, and his sense of art.
