Abstract (EN)
In this study it is aimed to investigate natural light level in Diyarbakır Historical Houses. In this study, transparency levels of Diyarbakır Historical Houses, in different typologies, are calculated and daylight values of rooms are designated. At the end of these measurements and calculations, natural illumination levels of dwellings are evaluated according to functional suitability. This study consisted of eight parts. In the first part; the subject is introduced and the importance of daylight is emphasized. In the second part; examples are given from prior studies related to subject and the differences of this study are explained. In the third part; general definitions about the daylight are explained. Also reflecting factors are designated according to surface colors. In the fourth part; properties of Diyarbakır Historical Houses and factors which affected their architectural formation are explained generally. In the fifth part; method of study is explained. In the sixth part; properties of Diyarbakır Historical Houses and their rooms in which the research is done, are explained. The points from which daylight value measured and transparency level of rooms? courtyard faces are established. The seventh part is the findings part. In this part, maximum, minimum and average natural illumination and transparency levels are studied and compared. Average illuminations changing are established in six month measurement process. Average and minimum illumination levels suitability of rooms are evaluated according to rooms? functions. In the eight and the last part; results of findings are explained. Some suggestions are made to control the daylight and economize energy in modern dwellings. Also, in appendix part (2 -16) values of measurements are given for six month.
