Investigation of the relationship between self-esteem and learned resourcefulness levels of trainers working in the Southeastern Anatolia Region

The aim of this study is to research the self-esteem and learned resourcefulness levels of the coaches working in the Southeastern Anatolia Region . Trainers working in the Southeastern Anatolia Region consists of the universe of the study. On the other hand the sample group, consists of 211 participants, 136 men and 75 women, who were randomly selected from the universe. In this study, personal information form created by the researcher to determine demographic characteristics as a data collection tool, Rosenbaum's Learned Resourcefulness Scale (RSQ) developed by Rosenbaum (1980), developed by Siva and Dağ (1991), and adapted to Turkish by Rosenbaum (1980) were used to determine the level of learned resourcefulness. ; The Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RBSS), developed by Rosenberg (1965) and adapted to Turkish by Çuhadaroğlu (1986), was used to determine the level of self-respect and self-esteem. The data obtained from the questionnaires were analyzed with the IBM SPSS 24 program. In the research; Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used as normality test. Frequency and percentage tests were used to determine the descriptive characteristics of the participants. Also, T test for pairwise independent sample variables and Oneway ANOVA test for more than two independent sample variables were used. LSD test was used as post-hoc test to determine the differences between groups. Correlation test was used to determine the relationship between the measures used in the research. As a result of the research; It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the level of self-esteem according to the gender variable (t=2.072; p<0,05). It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the level of self-esteem according to the marital status variable (t=-2.164; p<0,05). It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the level of self-esteem according to the age variable (F3,207=8.234; p<0,05). It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in the level of self-esteem according to the working year variable (F3,207= 4.144; p<0,05). It was determined that there was a statistically significant difference according to the variable of the province where they were assigned (F8,202=2, 394; p<0,05). In addition, it was determined that there was a weak positive correlation between self-esteem and learned resourcefulness level (r=.204;p=.003).
