A searching about the perspective on physically handicapped people of contemporary fashion designer

The sense of aesthetics and the desire to look beautiful from an early age begins to develop in every person. For the sake of good looks people are making dangerous diets and change their body with plastic surgery. They choose their clothes to reveal their beautiful body. Persons with disabilities are not included under this concept and should have a priority in their clothes designs; however, they have been neglected by fashion and textile industry. Individuals with physical disabilities are forced to choose from the garments produced without considering their disability. This issue is raised by the current research. The effect of fashion on people is accepted by everyone today. Clothes of the handicapped can change the negative social outlook regarding the concept of disability. Fashion is a prerequisite for ready-to-wear clothes. Ready-made garments produced without considering fashion trends are not preferred by consumers. Physically handicapped clothes have not attracted the attention of fashion designers until recently. In order to overcome these deficiencies, it is necessary to start working as soon as possible. The services related to handicapped clothing on the market are limited to the label reading devices that some companies prepare for the blind and the technology for recognizing the color of the clothes. In the absence of a market, disabled individuals have their daily outfits from ready-to-wear clothes. They do not prefer special embroidery in clothes other than in special occasions such as weddings. The reasons for making the physically disabled people interested in fashion are not met. All these problems are examined in this research. This study investigates why disabled handicrafts have not taken part in the fashion design sector until today, and present fashion designers' view on the design of disabled handicapped clothes has been put forward. The study also explores how fashion designers can make a permanent solution to the design of disabled handicapped clothes.
