Symbols in contemporary Turkish paintings

"Symbol" and "Sign" are the cultural unit of society and the most clear, simple structure of meaning with intellectual expression. This formalism is the existence in the expansion of the meaning of the image in art and it has taken the lead towards more conceptual space beyond formalism. When we view "Metaphor" and "Instance" as a combination of objects, it grows into an expression of a mutual meaning. The reflaction of expression into everday life, again and again arise itself; and while in this process if the expression that touches with conceptual space, will determine the cultural activity. In this thesis; the importance of the symbol in Turkish Painting, Hence, it will analyze the leading contemporary Turkish painters work with the effects and developmental stages of the "Symbol" and the paint itself.
