Abstract (EN)

Ibn Khaldun is a treasure waiting to be discovered, an extraordinary talent that transcends its time, a brilliant mind, a hope for humanity and more. Being a versatile thinker, he found himself a place in many disciplines such as history and philosophy of history, political science, sociology and economics. He has been compared to many thinkers who lived before and after him. It is possible to find his views in Petty, Ricardo, Malthus, Marx and even Keynes as well as in A. Smith. Muqaddimah, which is among the most important Islamic classics, has a rich and intense economic content. It provides detailed information on economic, commercial and financial issues; conveys detailed information about professions and arts. It focuses on the relationship of economics with religion, state, politics and morality. He is regarded as the founder of economics by many economic historians. According to him, economic differences are largely dependent on geography and climatic conditions. It is economic activities and livelihoods that determine social differences. The science of Umran forms the center of Ibn Khaldun's system of thought. The most important pillar of Umran is Asabiyyah. His development model has a multivariate and dynamic structure. He does not directly talk about regional development in the Muqaddimah, but gives clues about it. He talks about economically developed and undeveloped cities and compares them with each other.
