A research on noise problem and the measurement methods used studies about the use of plant material on the attenuation of noise

Noise, that has been generally defined as excessive or unwanted sounds, has become one of the major deterrents of a healthy living in every city of the world. Excessive sounds are disrupting the natural rhythms of city life and can lead to a permanent hearing loss, as well as psychological problems. Studies has been done for long years to make disappear the harmful effects of noise that disturbs the communities completely, or to reduce this effect to an acceptable level. To solve this problem by using plant material has a major effect from Landscape Architectural viewpoint. The aim of this research is to present noise problem, to solve this problem to gather together about the studies which pay attention on the use of plant material before all else, their methods and results. On this extent, first of all, noise problem is defined by presenting sound knowledge, acoustic parameters and measurement system that define sound, by investigating the factors that have to be considered in propagation of sound in out of doors, by determining the hearing mechanisms and the effect of noise sources and by determining the method of noise analysis. Then, as a result of literature investigation about the attenuation of noise by plants, their studying periods, and results are presented and discussed. This research was done by the purpose of to have a fundamental mean who wants to make measurement studies to determine the noise attenuation capacity of plants.
