Examining the metacognition awarness level of fine arts deparment students and their teaching self-efficacy beliefs

This reserach was conducted for determining the metacognition levels and selfefficiacy beliefs of the teacher candidates/the students of faculty of fine arts education.By setting the relations between these variables the study aims at reaching to functionalfindings.The variables related with the metacognition levels were provided from the?Metacognitive Awareness Inventory ?and the variables related with self efficiacyprovided from ?Teacher Self Efficiency Expectation Inventory?. The demografic datawas collected by the ?personal information questionaire? which was formed by theresearcher.The universe of the research is the students of fine arts education faculty. Thesample of the reserach is composed of the students of fine arts education faculty inAbant Izzet Baysal University 2008-2009 Fall and Spring Semesters.In this research corelational method was used. In this research was aimedvidetermine to fine art students meta cognition levels and self efficiacy beliefs regardingthe vocation of education/the job of teaching.The followings are the results of the research.1. The meta cognition levels of students of fine arts education from thedepartment of art education is high2. The self efficiacy belief of the students from the department of art educationregarding the vocation of education/the job of teaching is high.3. These is a positive corrolation between the meta cognition levels of fine artseducation students and the self efficiacy beliefs regarding the vocation ofeducation/the job of teaching.4. The metacognition levels of music education students from the faculty of arteducation is high.5. The self efficiacy beliefs of the students of music education from thedepartment of art education regarding the vocation of education/the job ofteaching is high6. These is a positive corrolation between the meta cognition levels of musiceducation students and the self efficiacy beliefs regarding the vocation ofeducation/the job of teaching.7. There is not a significant difference between the music education and arteducation students regarding their levels of meta cognition levels.8. There is not a significant difference between the music education and arteducation students regarding their self efficiacy beliefs regarding the vocationof education/the job of teaching.
