Abstract (EN)

Folk religion, which expresses the folk culture dimension of religion or the religious dimension of folk culture, differs from formal religion because it does not have a normative structure, is narrative-centered and is open to influence. As a result of this separation, it can form an opposing culture in conflict or it can be clustered under it as a structure. The phenomenon of visitation, which is characteristic of folk religion, means that the sacred places, which are very important centers of attraction thanks to the belief in the ancestral / saint cult at its origin and the spiritual power as a phenomenon, are visited with various wishes and purposes and certain methods. In this study, the phenomenon of folk religion is considered in the context of the phenomenon of visiting, and the typologies of religiosity are included, focusing on the dichotomous structure that folk religiosity has established with formal religiosity. While this situation is being presented, the experience of the sacred space is handled in a holistic manner, sacred space rituals from three different belief systems are included and attention is drawn to the performative process and functionality. In addition, the narrative dimension is given a wide place and besides the performative process and functionality, keramet / miracle motifs and symbolic meanings of the motifs are included with a text-centered perspective. Due to the fact that the phenomenon of folk religion reflects on all areas of folk life, a comprehensive study has been conducted within the framework of a phenomenological view of sacred places, evaluated within the scope of faith, narrative and ritual. Urbanization processes, social institutions, faith tourism, digital culture, spiritual healing search, transition periods, gender differentiation, food and drink culture are included in the study. As a result of the study, it was seen that the phenomenon of folk religion is quite alive in the field of research in the context of the phenomenon of visitation, and that formal religion continues to exist despite subordinate and opposite cultural characterizations and interventions.
