Hamzanâme

We do not have too much knowledge about Hamzavi's life, the writer of Hamzaname, which is one of the most valuable works of Turkish literature. It has been known that Hamzavi wrote Hamzaname which was the most bulky work of our literature in 14.th century. The one of the workswhich has not been interest much; however neccessary to be analyzed and overemhasized on it by Turkish world fill today is Hamzaname oeuvrein which 29.th volume we stadied as master's thesis has also placed. Which is quite beneficial text in terms of the grammar and vocabulary of old Turkish, has 72 fixed volume. We accepted 57 leafed copies at the library of "Nadir Eserler" in Faculty of litareture, İstanbul University as essential. Firstly, we read the text and tried to reveal the problems. On this staye we applied to coppy, in the library of Yapı Kredi Sermer Çifter for ınscriptions in the worn parts of the text. We transfered the old. Charactered text to the new words with the common transcription system after made essential arrangements. Meanwhile, we avaluated the spelling errors in the text by dıviding on languages under the different tittle. After arrenged the text, we preparedan exlensive dictionary in which all the words, compound verbs, inflexible Turkish Arabian and Persian statements placed. Apart from the dictionary, we showed the index of person and place names on tableau. Keywords: Hamza, Hamzaname, folk tale, fairy tale and legend.
