Abstract (EN)
Among our literary works whose subject is history and which make use of historical structures and illuminate the past, our Folk Literature corpus, which describes the life and culture of the people, has an important place. Hamzanâmes, which are considered under the name of Turkish Literature, were written for the first time by Hamzavî, the brother of the poet Ahmadî, one of the companions of Emir Süleyman Çelebi. Hamzanâme was written in the 14th century by Hamzavî, the brother of the poet Ahmedî. It is a valuable corpus that contains important information in terms of both grammar and folk literature in the Anatolian field. Hamzanâme is the general name of epic folk tales about the mythical life and battles of Hz. Hamza, the uncle of Hz. Muhammad. Hz. Hamza's heroism in protecting Hz. Muhammad and spreading Islam at the beginning of Islam paved the way for the formation of epic folk tales named Hamzanâme. There are many extraordinary elements in the work we have studied. These elements are narrated based on religious motives and the happenings in the text are included in daily life. In volume 24, Hz. Hamza's battles with the shah of Iran Nûş-i Revân and Salsal are narrated. We conducted our postgraduate study in accordance with the language and grammatical structure of the Old Anatolian Turkish period. There is one copy of volume 24 we are working on in Istanbul University Rare Works Library and Yapı Kredi Sermet Çifter Research Library. (Istanbul University Faculty of Literature, Rare Works Library, Nd. 2496. and Yapı Kredi Sermet Çifter Research Library, Y- 1096.) We made the majority of our study according to the copy in Istanbul University Rare Works Library. Regarding our postgraduate study the first step was the transcriptional translation of the text, which is followed by a summary. Then we have prepared a comprehensive dictionary reflecting the entire vocabulary of the text. Key Words: Hamzanâme, Hamzavî, 14th Century, Old Anatolian Turkish, Volume 24, Folk Tales, Reading Records.
