Education of values and the vocabulary in Hasan Latif Sarıyüce's child novels

The values which are thought to shape an individual's behaviours and attitudes, are of big importance in both developing a healthy personality and for the sake of a peaceful society. In this case, it could be said that the aim of values education is to help individuals to adapt into the society they belong in and to create strong relations among the members of the society. While implementing the values education, not only the materials which are to make it easier should be used but also efficient tools should be preferred. One of these tools is the child literature, which could offer the learners sample life experiences. In this descriptive work, the novels of Hasan Latif Sarıyüce, who is one of the child literature writer, are considered to present its contributions to the Turkish language education, in the sense of the values they include and the elements of language. These works are studied in point of how the values such as family union, being fair, peace, independence, being scientific, being hardworking, solidarity, being sensitive, honesty, aesthetics, equality, freedom, respect, affection, bein responsible, providence, patriotism, being helpful are implemented. These works are also studied in regards to the included language elements.
