Abstract (EN)
The study titled "Hasan Saka's Life and Political, Diplomatic, Economic Activities (1885-1960)", examines the life and political activities of Hasan Saka. Hasan Saka, who was born in 1885, finished his primary and secondary education in Trabzon. He began his higher education at the Mülkiye School ın Istanbul and later continued at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Paris until 1912. After completing his education, Hasan Saka returned to Istanbul in 1912. He worked in institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Finance and also taught finance courses at the Mülkiye School. Hasan Saka who held various positions until 1919, served as a member of the last Ottoman Parliament as a representative of Trabzon. After the occupation of Istanbul, Hasan Saka joined the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in Ankara and collaborated with Mustafa Kemal Pasha during the National Struggle period. During this period, he served as the Minister of Finance, Commerce and Economics in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He played a significant role in securing the financing of the army during the challenging conditions of the War of Independence. After the success of the National Struggle, he participated as a delegate in the Lausanne Peace Conference and made significant contributions to the signing of the Treaty of Lausanne. With the proclamation of the Republic, he held various positions during the Atatürk era, including Member of Parliament, Minister and Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly. He was involved in significant initiatives such as the establishment of Turkey's İş Bank, the Balkan Conferences, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union Conferences. Towards the and of World War II, he played a key role as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister. Additionally, during his tenure as Minister of Foreign Affairs, he made significant contributions to Turkey's membership in the United Nations through his participation in the San Francisco Conference. He played a significant role in Turkey's changing domestic and foreign policies. Hasan Saka contributed to Turkey's transition to a multi-party system through the democratic steps he took. He remained active in politics until 1954, during the period of the Democrat Party that came to power in the 1950 elections. As a scholar, he taught finance courses at he Mülkiye, Ankara Law School, and the School of Political Sciences. He made contributions to the scientific community with three works. Hasan Saka who passed away in 1960, was a statesman who made significant contributions through his political and scientific activities during the first thirty years of the Republic.
