The conditions of patients' utilizing oral and dental health services and their satisfaction (Kırklareli̇ sample)

This study has been made descriptively and in a cross-sectional way in order to develop ideas on what can be done about the present situation, the conditions of patients utilizing oral and dental health services with dentistry services in our country and to evaluate the satisfaction of patients. The universe of the study consists of patients utilizing the services of Kırklareli Oral and Dental Health Center and the sample has been chosen randomly among 300 patients volunteering to join the study. At the end of the study, it has been determined that most of the patients in the study are women, most of them are between 31-40 ages and most of them are married. About half of the patients are high-school graduates, more than half are working at well-paid jobs, most of them have an income between 1001-300 TLs and nearly all of them have health insurances. It has been stated that the health expenses of a big majority of the patients are supplied by their health insurances and most of the patients prefer the oral and dental health centers owing to their health insurances. Nearly three quarters of the patients have indicated that they are pleased with the service given at the oral and dental health center. And as a reason of their satisfaction, what they have stated are receiving an efficient and good service, the care of the doctor and all the health workers and the good behaviors of the doctor. It is clear that most of the patients will certainly apply to the same place when they have a problem about oral and dental health and most of them will advise MTHC. As a result; the re-arrangement of the waiting room, revising the air-conditioning system, organizing in-service educations for the hospital employees about subjects such as communication with the patient, body language etc., having changes at date system and applying similar studies in other branch hospitals may be advised.
