Medical analysis of surgeries in generall surgery departments in the hospitals and application in Üsküdar State Hospital

In this thesis, the surgeries operated in general surgery department of Üsküdar State Hospıtal between the dates 01.01.2007 ? 30.06.2009 has been medically analyzed. The research has been performed on the effects of surgery types for the patients having surgeries in general surgery department on the duration of the hospital stay. Survey method has been selected in this research. A survey containing 47 questions have been applied regarding the expectation on the duration of hospital stay to the 127 patients having surgeries in general surgery department between the dates 05.01.2010 ? 05.04.2010.In this research; the diseases of the patients and surgeries operated in the general surgery department of Üsküdar State Hospital. The medical analysis of the surgeries in general surgery department between the dates 01.01.2007 and 30.06.2009 have been peformed. The data of total duration of hospital days for the patients according to this analysis have been achieved and tabulated.According to the answers given to the qestions to the survey applied to the patients, expectations of the patients about their duration of hospital days after surgery and the effect related to the expectation have been realized. The relation ship between these expectations of patients and the reasons affecting the duration of hospital days have been evaluated based on the acquired data.
