Abstract (EN)
the aim of the study:relation of airports and urban growth, istanbul case,is to explain the impacts of airports on urban growth,by analysing the effects of two existing airports of istanbul and the possible effects of third airport that will be built until 2017 within the city boundaries.at the beginning of the study,the basic concepts,city urbanization,transport,transportation are explained.at the second chapter,the ralation of transportation and urban growth are explained.at the third chapter,the effects of transportation on the istanbul's urban growth are analysed.at the fourth chapter,the effects of ataturk and sabiha gökçen airports on istanbul's urbanization are examined through the analyses of airport buildings.the possible effects of the third airport of the city on the urbanization of the istanbul are eastimated,by studying the project.
