Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship among the school of foreign languaguages students' demotivation and foreign language anxiety, self-efficacy, demographic variables. In the study, exploratory correlational survey was used among quantitiative research designs. The data were collected by using three scales that had 91 items (Demotivation Scale for English, Foreign Language Anxiety Scale, Self-efficacy Scale for English). The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation, ANOVA, and t-test analysis. The findings reveal that the level of students' demotivation is high, and their self-efficay and anxiety levels are moderate. While significant correlations were found for the sub-dimensions of the scales, no correlation was found between demotivation and foreign language anxiety and demotivation and self-efficacy for the total scores. There is no significant difference between the demotivation level of the students and their parents' education, university exam achievement, faculty and language proficiency. However, there is significant difference between socio-economic status and demotivation. Likewise, significant difference was seen between gender and demotivation. The results were discussed through literature, and some recommendations were made for the decision takers and teachers.
