Abstract (EN)

Material and Method: The descriptive study was carried out between April 2019 and June 2019 in İzmir province all university faculties. The study sample consisted of 340 nurses working in this hospital. In collecting the data, Personal Information Form, Organizational Cynicism Scale (SCQ) and Organizational Commitment Scale (SCT) were used. In the analysis of the data, number percent, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis test and Spearman correlation analysis were used. Findings: The mean age of the nurses participating in the study was 33.76 ± 6.43. It was determined that 89.1% of the nurses were women, 69.4% were married, 57.6% were undergraduate graduates and 90.6% were working as service nurses. The total score of the nurses' organizational cynicism scale was 39.31 ± 12.35, 1 sub-dimension of organizational commitment was 29.50 ± 12.96, and 2 sub-dimension of organizational commitment was 23.74 ± 7.84. Organizational cynicism was found to be an important factor in explaining dependence on the dependent variable (organizational commitment 1 F: 240,184, p <0.001; commitment to organization 2 F: 180,618, p <0.001). In the simple linear regression model, organizational cynicism explained only 41% (Adjusted R2 = 0.414) of the commitment to the sub-dimension 1, and only 34% (Adjusted R2 = 0.346) of the commitment to the sub-dimension. Conclusions: It was determined that organizational cynicism had an effect on organizational commitment in nurses. Key Words: Cynicism, Organizational Cynicism, Organizational Commitment, nurse.
