Nurses under evaluation of knowledge and attitudes of electronic health record and information practices

Informatics the data is distributed rapidly processed in a simple manner, the technical infrastructure of the technology is an important branch of science. Health informatics is that data are converted into information and knowledge indispensable element in the implementation and delivery of health care services. Electronic health/patient records, health informatics has been one of the main areas and people of the past, present and obtained by using electronic systems relating to future health, stored, transmitted, and any information that is processed. This study was conducted with the purpose of identifying thoughts of nurses who work in hospitals about electronic health/patient records which is the basis of health informatics, by measuring their knowledges and adequacies about information systems. The study was substantiated between October 2015 and November 2015 in a private group hospitals in Istanbul with the 330 nurses. Survey method was used to collect data. Nurse Information form, Descriptive Information Form about Information Technology Use, Assessment Form for Evaluating Knowledge and Attitudes Applications, and System Electronic Patient Records Use Evaluation Form were used to collect data. It was determined that nurses who participated in research, are predominantly 18-25 years old. It was seen that most of the participants had associate or undergraduate degree It was detected that the most of nurses are service nurses. The results of the data analyses showed that the nurses find the information technologies education inaduquate and they want to get courses for efficient use of Technologies in in-service training activities.
