Objective: This study was conducted as a cross-sectional study to determine sleep quality, depression and related factors in nursing students. Materials and Methods: 400 undergraduate students studying at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Nursing participated in the study. Personal Information Form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Beck Depression Scale were applied to the students. In the evaluation of the data; descriptive statistics, independent groups t test, ANOVA, chi- square test, correlation analysis tests were used. Cronbach's alpha coefficients were calculated to test the reliability. Results: The mean age of the students participating in the study was found to be 20.2 ±1.2. The mean score of PSQI of the students participating in the study was 6.7 ± 3.2, and the mean score of BDI was found to be 13.06 ± 10.6. In our study, a correlation was found between the students' grades, their academic average perceptions, their perceptions of their economic status, their smoking and alcohol use, their chronic disease status, and the activity they most participated in, and their sleep quality. In our study, a correlation was found between the students' academic average perceptions, their current residence, their perceptions of their economic situation, their smoking status, their chronic disease status, and their depression levels with the most active activity. The students who stated that their academic average was bad, their economic situation was bad, who smoked, who had a chronic illness and who preferred to spend time alone were found to have worse sleep quality and higher depression levels. It has been determined that the sleep quality of the students who do not drink alcohol and the students studying in the 3rd grade are better. It xi was determined that the depression levels of the students staying in the state dormitories were higher. Conclusion: It was determined that as the sleep quality of the students decreased, it caused deterioration in their general mood, an increase in their depressive symptom levels and a decrease in their academic achievement. In this direction, it is recommended to raise awareness about sleep disorders, sleep quality and sleep hygiene.
